Description Baan Oriental is unique in being Ao Nang's only private villa for rent on a daily basis. For a family or group of friends, there is no doubt in our minds that this beautifully designed house is infinitely preferable to a series of hotel rooms.

For one it is huge: the main villa, which sleeps up to 8 in three en-suite bedrooms, has a surface area of 340sqm; together with the smaller guest bungalow, which accommodates a couple, they occupy a walled garden of 1600sqm with its own swimming pool. Secondly, it is for your exclusive use: no other guests are present to bother you, or take your place at the poolside.

Amenities are above and beyond those found in most hotels: an air-conditioned TV room, with satellite channels, DVD player and movies; an Apple i-Mac computer with ADSL internet connection, plus a wireless network that allows you to use your laptop anywhere on the premises (charged at 200 Baht per day); a fully-equipped kitchen (to prepare the fresh fish caught on the day's fishing trip?); an outdoor jacuzzi; plus a huge lounge, dining room and terrace where you can relax.

The villa's interior is a combination of Mediterranean and Thai chic: exposed brick walls and terracotta tiles give a rustic feel, while the high quality wood, bamboo and fabric furnishings are pure luxury. All bedrooms are air-conditioned; the kitchen and lounge are open plan and open air.

The property is protected by a high wall and 24-hour security and is cleaned on a daily basis. Staff are also available to cook and give massage and beauty treatments in-house, on request.

The one downside of Baan Oriental is that it is around 3km from the beach area. There is, however, a complimentary tuk-tuk service for local trips and the driver is just a phone call away on the house mobile. The location can even be a plus: the area is quiet and residential and close to local shops and markets (if you are planning to cook). If you prefer to drive yourself, Baan Oriental offers discounted rates if you request a vehicle rental (car or motorcycle) at the time of booking on our reservation form.

ROOMS The villa is comprised of 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom (two with double bathtubs); a TV room; and large open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, with double-height ceiling. One bedroom is a double; the other two contain one single and one double bed each.

The outdoor area consists of a covered terrace overlooking the large, but rather plain garden and 10m swimming pool with jacuzzi area.The whole property is protected from outside gaze by the high wall around its perimeter.

There is also a small guest bungalow consisting of a double bedroom, bathroom and small terrace directly opposite the villa. This is only available for use with large groups when the main house is full.

FACILITIES The accommodation has air-con, hot water, satellite TV, a DVD player, fully-equipped kitchen, including fridge, microwave oven, coffee machine, cooking utensils and all tableware, Apple i-Mac computer with ADSL internet connection, wireless network, direct-dial telephone with free local calls and 24-hour security staff . There is also a swimming pool with jacuzzi area.

This accommodation is provided on a self-catering basis. A chef is available for an extra charge to cook Thai and western dishes to order if required. Other services available include car and motorbike rental, laundry, tour organising and in-house beauty and massage treatments.

In 2000, I came to Krabi for a new challenge: open a resort. I bought property here and built Baan Oriental. I am currently building more villas in Krabi. I designed Baan Oriental with luxury, pleasure and convenience in mind. The villa is well maintained - the sheets, towels and rooms are cleaned daily. The bedrooms are air-conditioned to provide you with a cool night's sleep. To enable guests to keep in touch with the outside world, we have installed satellite television in a separate air-conditioned room. A computer with wireless ADSL connection is available for your use. Swim anytime in the private pool and unwind in the jacuzzi at your doorstep. If you wish to pop into town, we have a brand new scooters and car available for hire. We want you to feel at home at Baan Oriental. This is a house with no rules. If you want advice on things to do and see, we are happy to recommend activities and attractions. If you want privacy and peace, then we will be discreet. Reservation PolicyAll rates are subject to 10% service charge and 7% VAT. The use of the villa, its amenities, the villa tuk tuk for transfers around Ao Nang, maid service and water and electricity expenses are included. Motorbike and car rental, private chef, catering staff, massage and beauty services are available at an extra charge.

Cancellation PolicyGuests who wish to confirm their reservation must pay a 50% deposit. This amount will be confirmed in an email to you.
